WOMEN in INDIA @ 2047
Hon’ble Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi while delivering his ninth Independence Day speech mentioned that Women Empowerment is vital to make India a developed nation in 2047, when the country celebrates its 100th year of independence. A recent statistics suggests that girls’ enrolment in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics is at 43 % today, more than countries like America, UK and Germany.
Surana & Surana International Attorneys successfully conceptualized and organised a ‘Dialogue on Role of Women in India @ 2047’ on Saturday, 11th March 2023 at our Office Auditorium in Chennai.
Our eminent speakers discussed on how equality/equity is perceived among women, opportunities available for them, role of women in positioning India as Global leader etc. in the free wheeling dialogue.
Dr Lalitha Balakrishnan, Principal, M O P Vaishnav College for Women who moderated the dialogue, mentioned that women at rural places are coming up and should soon be on par with women in cities. Ms. Vidya Gajapathi Raju Singh, Princess of Vijayanagaram added that there are no limitations to what a woman can achieve and sky is the limit. Ms.Mahalakshmi Saravanan, entrepreneur, mentioned that in today’s scenario we see a lot of women uplifting other women through their entrepreneurial skills. Ms. Divya Manchanda, pilot, The ePlane Company, stated that Indian women pilots form 15% of the world’s women pilots and have the potential and zeal to achieve stellar success.
